Nuweiba is not the right destination if you are looking for the never ending party and restaurant after restaurant along a beautiful boulevard. But you do have other opportunities to have fun while passing the time.

Tarabeen offers a large amount of acceptable cafes and restaurants directly on the beach. Fresh fruit-juice, shishas, meals and drinks are a great mix for the fantastic view out onto the sea and the mountains of Saudi Arabia. Prices are moderate, and it is a good idea to compare them beforehand. If you have the feeling that you are being ripped off, then bargain the price down, until both you and the shopkeeper are happy (it is tradition to make sure that both parties are happy with the price). Tarabeen is the perfect place to "chill out", you can play guitar/drums, or just listen and play backgammon.

Especially famous and loved is the restaurant named Blue Bus. The name reminds us of the blue bus with which hippies came to Nuweiba and started this restaurant. The bus itself is still in close proximity to the restaurant. The restaurant is also special due to its relaxed feeling and the cleanliness.

The atmosphere at night is something special. Due to the Israelis only visiting in small groups, (since the second palestinian uprising), the beach has become rather quiet in the last few years, and is waiting for new guests to re-awaken the Nuweiban spirit.

There are other opportunities to get a meal in Nuweiba city. Numerous street kitchens offer Egyptian national dishes, fool and falaffel in a sandwich. Whoever is looking for a bit more tradition, is well served in Cleopatra restaurant or one of the two Korean restaurants in Nuweiba (all located close to Nuweiba Village Resort). Typical, well priced food awaits you here.

All Egyptian restaurants within Nuweiba do have more or less the same kind of menu, offering international dishes ranging from Pizza to Sea Food Soup. Nuweiba Village Resort offers the opportunity to enjoy the nightly buffet on the Veranda. One can also pass the time in the nightly disco or the disco like Beach Bar. Other discos can be found in the Nuweiba Coral Hilton and twice a week in the White Palace - Tarabeen.
