Nuweiba diving centres and dive schools offer divers of all calibres very much in the way of diving and many shallow reefs - perfect for snorkelers, dive beginners and experienced scuba divers. In the national park of Nuweiba also drop off diving for those of you who like to go a bit deeper is offered.

The dive sites are not as spectacular as those in Dahab or Sharm El Sheikh, they do however offer a wider variety of life, and have ideal conditions for the underwater photographer .. you will rarely encounter divers other than those from your group, this allows you to take wide frame of makro photos in complete peace. There is one very special dive site here, "MFO - The Sinker", there is a buoy that has been sunk here, which reminds one of a television tower. The National Park Abu Ghalum, one of the three national parks of the Sinai, offers cave diving, drop off diving. some drop offs go down to 120m, what lies beyond that is still unknown.

The best known dive sites probably are:

• Ras Shatany (10 km north of Nuweiba)
• MFO - The Sinker (close to the port)
• Pipeline (close to the base of the MFO)
• Ma'Serik (10 km south of Nuweiba)
• Ras Mamlah (35 km south of Nuweiba)

These trips are offered by all Dive Centres in Nuweiba, as the prices differ for each centre, please inform yourself in advance. As well all dive schools and centres in Nuweiba teach diving according to internationally accepted standards and are checked regullary by the Egyption Underwater & Lifesaving Federation and the Ministry of Tourism in Cairo.

Complete dive safaris are offered, often in combination with diving, jeep and camel trips. Nitrox dives are currently offered by Emporer Divers and Diving Camp Nuweiba. Technical diving is still taking its first steps in Nuweiba, inform yourself in advance about how far the needed infrastructure allows this.

Wreck diving is not possible in Nuweiba due to the unfortunate (or fortunate?) lack of wrecks, boat diving is currently only offered at the Diving Camp Nuweiba.
