Shop Openings in Tarabeen/Nuweiba
With the start of Ramadan on September, 2, 2008 two beautiful shops increase the level within Tarabeen area. First friends and relatives of the shops owner were invited for breakfast in the Blue Bus Restaurant, right opposite of the shops, afterwards, under standing ovations, the President of the city Council, Mr. Alarabi, opened the shops.
The first shop he opened was Ashraf Bazaar. This unique shop sells everything tourists are looking for as a souvenir for their holidays. You will find water pipes, chess games, the typical Egyptian pyramids and a huge collection of artist lamps in different coloures and styles. The shop owner, Ashraf Kalifa is looking forward to welcome you in his nice shop.
Afterwards Mr. Alarabi opened the "Queen Jewellery", the very first jewellery within Nuweiba, which belongs to Mr. Mohamed and Ms. Nura Ghanem. They do offer a huge variety and excellent choice of gold and silver jewellery, stylish and unique.
A lot of customers were very interested in all these fine arts. So if you like to buy some jewellery for your friends, family or better yourself this is the place to go.

2008-09-1509:13:37 Supporting the idea that Tarabin is being modernized does not imply supporting the making of a hurly-burly stronghold out of it.
This - I am sure - will never happen. Doing away with rubbish and installing a kind of sewer along with a paved street framed by nice shops and restaurants is something different. Yes, Nuweiba WAS busy, some years ago. Now the situation has changed. To be busy again, Nuweiba must change to a certain degree, too. At the same time I trust the people in Nuweiba that they will help their city to regain its unique atmosphere.
2008-09-0908:33:16 Actually I do not like the idea of having a second Dahab within Nuweiba. I would prefer a special way for Nuweiba, lets say a nice, but clean sandy way with Bedouin style restaurants instead of paved streets with overexpensive shops. Nuweiba was quite busy some years ago because it has its own way, kind of ecological with unique atmosphere.

I was really impressed when reading about the changes that are currently going on in Nuweiba Tarabin. At long last, this beautiful spot in South Sinai is taken care of and is being modernized. Iīm not saying I didnīt like it before - if I didnīt I would probably not spend at least 3 weeks each and every year in the Blue Bus Camp - but to be honest, to make it really attractive for international tourism, it is just vital to change the face of Tarabin into that of an up-to-date village. The initial step, the opening of the two amazing new shops Ashraf Bazaar and Queen Jewellery was a great start. Mabrook to the owners Mr. Khalifa and Mr. and Mrs. Ghanem and good luck! And I am really eager to walk on a new paved "corniche" when I come to visit Tarabin next time, which will hopefully be soon!
